Higher Education Opportunities Abound!

two girls Our region is home to one of the highest concentrations of higher education institutions in the nation, and Madison residents live within an hour of dozens of colleges and universities. Our location makes it convenient for those who teach, work or study at an area college as well as those who want to access local college facilities, services and community programming. Our students have opportunities to take college courses, visit college campuses and interact with college students through structured activities.

MCS hosts an active and successful chapter of FFA, a national student organization that focuses on career development, agri-science and business. In New York, FFA partners with a number of public and private colleges, including Cornell University, to enhance the student experience.

Students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs have the opportunity to earn dual and/or concurrent college credit through articulation agreements with higher education institutions in the region, and they are able to earn an additional "CTE endorsement" on their high school Regents diploma by completing industry-recognized competency and skill assessments.
